Carlin Johnson Politzer serves as the Senior Program Officer for The Sobrato Organization (TSO), where she focuses on Thriving Communities in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks. Collaborating with the local team, Carlin engages with a network of grantees, tenants, and funders to promote a comprehensive, multi-generational economic mobility approach. Her efforts aim to fortify pathways to economic opportunity, enhance financial security, well-being, and foster community cohesion within Redwood City and North Fair Oaks.

Carlin has over 25 years of experience in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining TSO, Carlin was Program Officer within the Office of the President at The David & Lucile Packard Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Carlin was a San Jose Leadership Council Community Leadership Fellow, a CIVITAS Fellow at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. She has served on various boards, including Teach for America (Bay Area), Learn Fresh Education Co., and Oakland Roots and Soul Foundation.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Carlin has been a resident of San Carlos for over 15 years. In her leisure time, she volunteers at Jasper Ridge Farm, cheers for her favorite sports teams, works out at a boxing gym, and enjoys activities and adventures with her husband, Ben, their two teenagers, Maia and Ethan, and their dog, Oliver.
