
Adam Briones
Director of Housing Security Initiative
Adam Briones is Director of Housing Security Initiative (HSI). Collaborating closely with the Sobrato Philanthropy, Capital, and Real Estate teams, he spearheads efforts to enhance and expand the HSI, aiming to achieve lasting, transformative impact.
A native of Oakland, Adam brings extensive expertise in affordable housing development and policy advocacy to Sobrato. Throughout his career, Adam has been dedicated to tackling California's housing challenges and addressing the racial wealth gap.
Before joining TSO, Adam served as CEO of California Community Builders, where he spearheaded initiatives like the $500 million California Dream for All mortgage program and played a pivotal role in shaping housing legislation. His decade-long experience in affordable housing finance and development spans New York, complemented by a stint in Washington, DC, as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Fellow with Congresswoman Maxine Waters and the House Financial Services Committee.
Adam holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz. Known for his passionate leadership and transformative impact, Adam plays a key role in advancing our mission of creating significant social change.
