When the Mission-West Valley Community College District sought to convert 26 acres in Santa Clara into an income-producing asset in 1994, they called Sobrato. We structured a 99-year ground-lease and constructed 685,000 sizluare feet of Class A oltice space. The lease now provi es a stable income stream to the District of nearly $2 million each year. The tenants include Yahool and EMC Corporation.

In the mid 1970s, Sobrato constructed one of its largest projects to date, a 560,000 sf campus for Four Phase Systems. Less than 15 years later, Apple Computer was eager to centralize into a single corporate campus.Recognizing' an opportunity, Sobrato created a joint venture wit App e to redevelop the Cupertino land.Leveraging our development and construction expertise, we built the 870,000-square-foot corporate headquarters that remains the hub of Apple's visionary technology.

Sobrato has developed campuses for the electronics industry for more than three decades. So when NVIDIA, a world leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, wanted to consolidate U.S. operations in 2000, they chose us. We constructed a 500,000-square-foot campus on 17 acres on a prime corner location in Santa Clara. Functional and flexible, the NVIDIA headquarters in one of Sillicon Valley's most recognized architectural landmark.

The Sakauye family came to Santa Clara County from Japan in 1900 and began acquiring land. By 1996, they had sold off most of their 200 acres, retaining a prime 10-acre site in North San Jose. Reluctant to enter into a partnership but cognizant of Sobrato's stellar reputation, the family entered into a 99-year ground lease allowing us to build 220,000 square feet of Class A office space on the site. Today, the project generates more than $1 million each year for the Sakauye family.

Sobrato built much of its reputation on single-tenant projects for technology clients, but in today’s real estate market, diversification is key. in 1990, Sobrato began to develop and acquire apartment homes along the West Coast. We now own more than 8,650 residential units between Seattle and San Diego, rounding out a strategic portfolio that gives our company unmatched stability and financial strength in a changing market.
