Theory of Change / Strategy
A Theory of Change is a nonprofit organization's roadmap describing its desired outcomes, with a clear articulation of what the organization will do to achieve them. TOC's explain the process of change an organization is seeking by outlining causal linkages in an initiative—often depicted visually as a high-level summary. It is a dynamic method for planning, guiding implementation, and evaluating programs. The process begins with stakeholders defining long-term goals, and then mapping backward to identify necessary preconditions, target populations, and both resources and strategies required to achieve the desired impact.
